  • Remembering Carol

    Carol papuga dave

    My friend stopped dreaming today
She opened her eyes in the other world

A kaleidoscope of tears assaults and soothes my soul
Love & Rage, Joy & Sadness, Anguish & Understanding
A shower of memories – like fairy dust
      Illuminates our time together
    In every future moment
I will miss you – as I wonder
    How is this possible?
When everywhere I look inside of me
     There you are

    Hearken to this reed forlorn
     Breathing ever since was torn
From its rushy bed a strain
     Of impassioned love and pain

The secret of my song though near
None can see and none can hear
Oh for a friend to know the sign
And mingle all their soul with mine

Twas the wine of God inspired me
Twas the flame of God that fired me
If thou wouldst know how lovers bleed
Hearken, hearken to the reed  –  Rumi

  • Stillness

    You tell me

    How to stop

    When I spread my arms

    To hold it back

    The current became the wind

    Whistling between my legs

    I came inside to escape

It followed me in as infinite stillness

    Now that I’ve tasted that

    There’s no escape

    Beware

    My friend

    Stillness

    Will steal you

    From yourself

  • 9 Pillars of Ego

The ego-self’s foundation rests on nine pillars. These pillars are cognitive errors on the part of the ego mind.

The soul patterned by these errors lives a life of partial cognition, perceiving a veiled reality instead of the abundance of its true nature. The ego’s partial view of reality is basically delusional since it is an assertion that is not based on truth or reality.

BUT, try and tell that to the person next to you. Most of humanity is convinced that these cognitive errors are, in fact, the way reality is.

The nine pillars of the ego are:

    • Localized Good/Love
    • Localized Rightness
    • Duality
    • Separate Unfoldment
    • Separate Will
    • Facets of unity ennegramSeparate Doer
    • Separate Identity
    • Separate Self
    • No True Nature

To expose these delusions for what they are, one must become like an archeologist of the soul. Here is a place to start digging: Facets of Unity

A friend does not give his own opinion and experience, and impose it on you. A friend helps you find your own solution. – A.H. Almaas

We should think of utopia as a world in which individuals and groups had the freedom, will, energy, and talent to make and remake their lives unencumbered by insufficiency and the fear of violent death”.  – George Kateb

Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child’s world and thus a world event.  – Gaston Bachelard

  • The Green Man

     green_man kidhr

There are legends of him (Khidr) in which, like Osiris, he is dismembered and reborn; and prophecies connecting him, like the Green Man, with the end of time. His name means the Green One or Verdant One, he is the voice of inspiration to the aspirant and committed artist. He can come as a white light or the gleam on a blade of grass, but more often as an inner mood. The sign of his presence is the ability to work or experience with tireless enthusiasm beyond one’s normal capacities. In this there may be a link across cultures,…one reason for the enthusiasm of the medieval sculptors for the Green Man may be that he was the source of inspiration. – William Anderson, Green Man: The Archetype of our Oneness with the Earth

I cannot see how a man of any large degree of humorous perception can ever be religious- except he purposely shut the eyes of his mind & keep them shut by force.     – Mark Twain
